I'm now standing outside their door, eager to start on this case. What happened here?

Thank you Detective for coming in such short notice! We have been expecting you.
The Duke has gone missing for 5 days. Before his disappearance, he has locked himself in his study for 2 whole days, looking at his favourite paintings on the wall and mumbled to himself.
The study has no window and there is only 1 entry to the room that is heavily guarded. We weren't sure what happened.

I've been hearing tales from my grandfather about how he had the best adventure of his life in a strange universe, right here from this study. He told of a world of wonders - flying machines and people talking to each other across a thousand miles. I wonder where that world could be and how he got there.
I've asked him many times. I, too, have been dreaming about this adventure of a lifetime. But all he said was, "Whisper to the angel what she wants to hear, and she will grant you your wish."

The secret passage was a narrow and dark tunnel. I lit up the path with a torch as I traced down signs of the Duke.
When I'm reaching the end, there were 3 paths branching out, with the Duke's belongings left in front of each. Which path could the Duke have taken?

As I placed the cards, everything went dark and then the strangest thing happened: lightning struck the crystal ball and the Duke was in front me, dressing all out of place. I asked him where he went but he only gave me smiles. Did he travel to that strange land that his grandfather visited? Perhaps. Perhaps not. In any case, he is back and the case closed for now.
